Description
The STERR EVR9050BE is a slim electric vertical radiator that fills with water — designed for small bathrooms, en-suites and downstairs toilets that need a controllable heat boost without running new pipes from the boiler.
The radiator body works just like a plumbed radiator, but instead of central-heating water flowing through it, you fill it once with water (or a glycol mix for freeze protection) and the screw-in electric heating element warms the liquid from the inside. Heat distributes evenly across the whole panel.
What's in the box
- 1 × Radiator body (powder-coated steel)
- 1 × Electric heating element — screw-in, with rotary-thermostat controller, mode dial, coiled cable and fitted Schuko (Type F) plug
- 4 × Wall-mounting brackets with fixings
- 1 × Air bleed / fill valve + metal blanking plugs
- 2 × PEX 16 mm pipe connectors + 1 × decorative cover plate + 2 × white pipe sleeves (included in case you later want to install the body as a plumbed radiator instead)
- Plastic transport caps (discard before installation)
- STERR installation manual
⚠ Plug type — please note
The heating element is supplied with a Schuko (Type F) plug — the standard plug for continental Europe. For Irish 3-pin sockets you'll need a Schuko-to-Type-G travel adapter (available at most hardware stores) or have a qualified electrician swap the plug. The radiator runs on standard 230 V mains.
Why customers choose it
- No central heating connection required — fill once, plug in, switch on
- Water-filled body for even, comfortable heat across the whole panel — no localised hot spots
- Adjustable thermostat with mode selector on the heating element
- Glycol-compatible — fill with a glycol mix instead of water to use in unheated rooms or holiday homes without freezing
- Vertical, wall-mounted — saves floor space, flat profile sits close to the wall
- Modern matt matt black finish (also available in white)
- Made in the EU from durable powder-coated steel
Is 300 W right for my room?
The 300 W output is ideal for taking the chill off small bathrooms (around 2–4 m²), en-suite shower rooms and cloakrooms. For larger bathrooms (4–7 m²) consider the 600 W EVR12050WE.
Installation
Plug-and-play once filled — full procedure in the included STERR manual. Summary:
- Fix the brackets to the wall (500 mm centres) and hang the radiator body.
- Screw the heating element into the bottom port.
- Plug any unused side or back ports with the supplied metal blanking plugs.
- Fill the body through the top vent with clean tap water (or a glycol mix), leaving about 3 cm empty at the top — do not overfill.
- Plug in, turn the controller to maximum, and wait about 1 hour for the temperature to equalise across the panel.
- Check the water level and adjust to half of the highest horizontal profile, then close the vent tightly.
From then on, set the temperature and mode on the controller as needed.
